No; SoFresh beverages are not organic. All ingredients are certified non-GMO and are all natural however. No preservatives, artificial flavours, colours or additives.
The almonds we use are grown in California, USA.
Yes; the almonds are pasteurized. The almonds are pasteurized in the blanching process as is required by law.
SoFresh beverages are made by Earth’s Own Food Company Inc., based in Burnaby, BC. We have production facilities in BC, Ontario and Québec.
We have three production plants. Our Western facility is located on Annacis Island, Delta, BC, and our Eastern facilities are located in Mississauga, ON and Québec, QC.
Yes; all SoFresh products are gluten free and suitable for those with Celiac disease.
Yes; all flavours we use are natural.
SoFresh beverages are free of animal-sourced ingredients, and contain no dairy or lactose. With the exception of our Unsweetened varieties, our beverages do include cane sugar. This ingredient may not be suitable to some vegetarians’ or vegans’ needs, as its processing includes the use of animal bone char. The bone char is used to remove colour and various impurities. It is not found ‘in’ the sugar itself by any means, but is used in the process as a filter. We are looking at other sources/suppliers of sugar which do not use this process to better address the various needs of our diverse consumer base.
Yes; they are fortified with nine essential vitamins and minerals. Please see product pages for info.
SoFresh is fortified with nine essential vitamins and mineral and contains as much Calcium and Vitamins D, B12 and A as dairy milk. However, it is not considered a source of protein (compared to dairy milk, which contains up to 9 grams per cup.)
Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that protects cell membranes from free radical damage, supporting immunity and healthy skin. Most North Americans get about half the recommended daily intake of Vitamin E. SoFresh Almond offers 15% of the RDI in one serving of 250 mL.
Antioxidants are substances or nutrients in our foods which can prevent or slow oxidative damage to the body. When cells use oxygen, they naturally produce free radicals which can cause damage. Antioxidants prevent and repair damage done by these free radicals.

Yes. Our SoFresh Almond Original has about half the calories per serving of 2% milk and is comparable in fat (60 calories and 2.5 grams of fat). Our Unsweetened contains only 35 calories per serving- that’s half of the calories found in skim milk! Our beverages are low in saturated and free of cholesterol.
There is no soy in the formulations of our almond beverages. Although we follow strict and stringent guidelines in the production of goods and cleaning of our facility, we also produce soy beverages as well.
No. SoFresh products are wheat and gluten free.
We use recyclable material for packaging wherever possible. Visit http://www.recyclecartons.ca for more information on carton recycling in Canada or check with your local recycling centre to confirm if the container is recycled in your area.
No, the cartons do not contain BPA.
Freezing is not recommended. Freezing SoFresh may cause separation which affects the consistency of the product upon thawing. However, the beverage is still perfectly safe to consume if you choose to do so.

Shaking before serving helps to maintain product consistency. Over time solids, like cocoa powder and vitamins, may settle to the bottom of the carton.
We use Natural Cane Sugar in the Sweetened varieties.
After opening, virtually all non-dairy products are best consumed within 7-10 days.
The fat found in SoFresh Almond comes from naturally occurring almond oil and from canola oil (the shelf stable variety).
